Global Aviation is approved equipment dealer for Garmin avionics

Global Aviation is now an approved equipment dealer for Garmin International

Global Aviation continues to stretch its wings with its recent facility addition in Hillsboro, Oregon as well as growing avionics and maintenance capabilities. The company is now an approved equipment dealer for Garmin International (NASDAQ: GRMN), an innovative leader in aviation navigation.

In 2014 Global Aviation’s expansive new hangar addition gave the company the much-needed space to meet the growing customer demand for quality maintenance, modification and completion work. A significant part of that vision is providing equipment upgrades that enable a customer’s aircraft to become current with the latest Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements and regulations.

“Our growth in avionics is exciting. Offering and servicing the innovative Garmin products holds to our company vision to deliver quality and excellence in all aspects of our business,” said Flo Newton, Global Aviation President. “We value the participation of Garmin with industry groups like Equip 2020 that help to ensure that our customers can efficiently adhere to current and future FAA regulations.”

The FAA and aviation industry leaders are committed to equip aircraft with new NextGen avionics technology by January 1, 2020, through the creation of the Equip 2020 working group led by the NextGen Institute.  Under a 2010 rule, all aircraft flying in designated airspace must be equipped with Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) Out avionics to increase safety and efficiency in the National Airspace System.

Global Aviation’s FAA certified repair station is an award-winning Bombardier-authorized Learjet, Challenger and Global Express AOG/Line Maintenance Facility.  The west coast business jet service center is also authorized as a dealer for Rockwell Collins, Universal Avionics, Thrane & Thrane, True North Avionics, and Astronics.
