Fall means Fantasy Football season for Global Aviation’s Line Service Team

In the Global Aviation Line Service Department, teammates work together and play together. With a name on a trophy at stake and some prize money, too, the crew has created its second annual Fantasy Football League, the Portland Metro Ballers.

Bill Moore, Line Service Manager, started the league at Global Aviation last year. Josh Larson – Line Service Supervisor won the 2014 Championship. 10 employees plus two wives, are participating this year with a chance to win bragging rights and up to $140.

“The Fantasy Football League has been a lot of fun and a great morale and team building activity for the Line Service Department,” said Moore. “It is early in the season but Alex Moyer – Line Service Technician is in the lead with a 5-0 record. For some of us there have already been plenty of first round draft pick disappointment. Hopefully we see a return on our investments soon.”

Fantasy Football, as many know it today, began in 1997 when the first publicly available and free fantasy website was launched. The game immediately became widely popular. Within three years, all major sports media websites launched competing fantasy football hosting websites. The NFL released their own official game in 2010, Today, it is estimated over 19 million people compete in public and private leagues online nationally.
