In this Meet the Fleet series, Global Aviation showcases the experience available in each of its charter aircraft. Take a few minutes to enjoy a pilot tour of the stylish Challenger 300.

Imagine traveling for five to six hours and being refreshed and ready to explore a new destination or tackle your business meeting. Sound impossible? Flying can be exhausting, but not on Global Aviation’s Challenger 300.

Challenger 300 Pilot Mike Hughes has over 25 years in the cockpit and has a long list of aircraft experience, but says flying the Challenger 300 is a unique experience. “The Challenger 300 has a very low vibration level,” says Hughes. “I pilot six hour flights without feeling any of the noise-induced fatigue normally associated with smaller jets.”

The Challenger 300’s quiet ride pairs well with the cabin’s premium insulation package that makes the surround sound an enjoyable highlight of any flight.

The super-mid aircraft is roomy and luxurious with comfortable club seating for eight passengers, a beautiful light wood interior, enclosed lavatory, and a flat floor with easy access to baggage from the cabin. More amenities are found in the resourceful galley that includes an oven, espresso machine, cooler and small sink.

“I became a pilot because after my first flight lesson, I fell in love with the art of flying.  I love everything about aviation: the airplanes, the airspace environment, the other people in the industry, even the smell of a 30-year-old Cessna,” laughs Hughes. “This Challenger 300 is so well-maintained it looks and smells brand new. In my experience, the Global Aviation Line Service Department is one of the best in the country.”

The full-service Maintenance Department at Global Aviation is an advantage for charter aircraft at the FBO. The Challenger 300 recently experienced the benefits of a 48-month inspection event. Hughes was impressed by the efficiency and the level of service performed by Global Aviation’s maintenance technicians.

Hughes considers the name “Challenger” perfect for what he calls “cool – it’s a sexy looking airplane, comfortable and capable aircraft.” He is excited to explore more destinations with charter customers. Highlights have been Hawaii, Norway, Croatia, Germany and, his personal favorite so far, Iceland.
