Michaelle Olson

Ten years ago, Michaelle Olson left the retail corporation that she worked for and joined Global Aviation.  Hired to assist Flo Newton, Global’s President, Michaelle was also responsible for charter scheduling and office management, which included back-up for the fledgling IT Department.  At the time, the company was not yet an FBO.  There were only 27 employees and 17 computers.

By 2004, the IT role was added to Michaelle’s list of responsibilities. Shortly thereafter, she also became the co-chair of PRSDA (Pacific Rim Scheduler Dispatcher Assoc).  Work was challenging– there was plenty of variety in her position and her ability to multi-task and produce at high levels was extremely advantageous to her career.

“Keeping various balls in the air is a challenge that I have always embraced,” says Olson.  “The IT piece of my position was fairly manageable over the years–we were even able to re-cable and transition the company from DSL to fiber.  But now, Global Aviation has over 60 employees to support from an IT standpoint.  Technology management  has grown to the point where it needs the support of a full time manager.”

Known for promoting from within, Global Aviation has moved Michaelle into fulltime management of the IT Department where she initially plans to upgrade the company’s servers and phone system.
