Global Aviation, talk radio host Lars Larson and Delete Blood Cancer (DKMS) are partnering in a bone marrow donor registration drive at Global Aviation’s Hillsboro, Oregon headquarters August 18th through August 20th. Larson will broadcast his northwest and national radio shows live from the event on Wednesday, August 19th. Mark your calendar to attend this educational, easy and rewarding event to support Delete Blood Cancer (DKMS), the world’s largest bone marrow donor center.

Register as a bone marrow donor and help people like corporate flight attendant Lori Agresta find a match
Inspiring the donor registration drive is Lori McClaskey-Agresta, a well-known corporate flight attendant with a passion for adventure. Lori is a welcome addition to any crew who has been lucky enough to work with her. Lori is battling Severe Aplastic Anemia, a bone marrow failure disease. Lori will need a bone marrow transplant and is turning to the National Bone Marrow Registry to find a match.
“Many do not realize how difficult it can be to find a match. It is moving to have Global Aviation be a part of increasing awareness and gathering donor registrations for a cause that can truly save a life,” said Flo Newton, Global Aviation President. “Having Lars Larson broadcasting on site will undoubtedly give the donor registration drive a huge boost by bringing attention to this cause.”
Finding a bone marrow match can feel like winning the lottery, but fortunately every new donor registration helps raise the odds. Donors and patients need to share at least 8-10 HLA tissue characteristics and there are more than 7,000 known HLA types with millions of combinations. Delete Blood Cancer DKMS empowers people to take action. Globally, the organization has registered over 5 million donors and provided more than 47,000 patients with a match for a second chance at life.
A swab of the cheek is all it takes to be included on the National Bone Marrow Registry. Stop by Global Aviation’s bone marrow registration drive to help save a life.

11am to 6pm
To register you must be 18-55 years old, in good general health, weigh at least 110 pounds, have a maximum body mass index of 40, and be willing to donate to any patient in need. If you are a match, and in good health, you will be notified and asked to donate using one of two desired methods. There is no financial cost to the donor. More information regarding the donation process can be found on at DeleteBloodCancer.org.
For those who want to help but are unable to register, donations are a welcome gift. It costs Delete Blood Cancer $65 to register each new donor. Because they do not want these costs preventing someone from becoming a potential lifesaver, registrants are never required to pay. Individual, foundation and corporate contributions help keep registration free and accessible to anyone.
